How to change resolution?
No matter what I set the resolution to in the settings menu it won't change from outputting 1080p. I tried 720p - 4k in the in-game settings, both using windowed and fullscreen and nothing changes it

Which version are you using? Gamepass? Steam?

Open properties on the .exe of the game, then click "Disable fullscreen optimizations". After this, press "Change high DPI settings" and enable both options. Make sure the override is set to Application. After this restart the game and it should run in the correct resolution.

This usually works, but not in this for some reason. At least not in the Game Pass version.

Yeah this almost always works for me as well, but no luck here.

You're a lifesaver! was about to go for a refund here because it was only getting a 1440p image w/ 4k settings. This got 4k working immediately.

I also have the Game Pass version installed, and I did exactly what this guy explained, but had to find the .exe in another location...

For some reason, and I have to say that I hate the Microsoft Store or the Xbox app itself for managing the installation folders just as they want, but even if I have the game installed in my D: drive, don't ask me why, if I go to the C: drive, specifically in
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.BadgerWin10_1.17.24827.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
(you can differentiate the Xbox app games folder because thay have a shortcut icon on it) I could find a copy of the game files, located the .exe there, and this "Change high DPI settings" started to work after using that .exe, even if I use the Task Manager to find out that the .exe file the game is running is still in the D: drive.

I don't know, Windows things, but this somehow worked ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hope this helps you

Thanks you!!!!!! Now I can play the game in a nice resolution... finally... I've been for hours looking for a fix... Thanks!!! You should make a video on youtube sharing your trick to fix the resolution, I think are a lot of people with this problem on the game pass version.

Thanks for this tip! This solved it for me. Very weird that they are different files, even though (at least here) they don't look like shortcuts/symlinks/etc.

The windowsapps folder has its permissions locked. In the past I have given myself permission to access this folder and it had broken all of my Gamepass games, and it required me to reinstall windows entirely to get any Gamepass games to work again

Is there any other way to access that exe?
