Report a translation problem
Yeah they do respawn. You should get a letter about it as soon as they are banished (or any other reason for disappearing).
However, there was a bug at launch where a new "fake" one would spawn every time you loaded the game when the quest was active. This meant only one of them was the real one to complete the quest, and banishing the other didn't give any letters. In that case you had to find the real one. Not sure if it's relevant for you but could be good to know as it wasn't found and fixed until August.
