Black screen on Steam Deck
After the new update the screen stays black when trying to start the story on Steam Deck. The menu works but gameplay just won't start, neither on game mode or desktop mode

If you don't mind trying to launch the game via Steam Experimental Proton, that should solve the issue- you'll need to "Force Compatibility" in the properties menu. Let me know if that helps!

Hi,
as a first tentative, please reboot the Steam Deck. If still not works, please reinstall the game. Thanks.

Did both (I even reinstalled it on internal memory instead of my SD card) and still nothing...

That helped yes! Thanks! 😊
Steam Deck user here and I was having the same black screen problem. Using Steam Experimental Proton fixed the issue for me too.

On Experimental Proton (and a different GE Proton) the cutscenes are dropping to like mid 30fps and stuttering and ruining the experience. Is it just me?

I should mention I’m playing docked 1080p.

Is this the latest version of the game as well? We do have a future fix incoming for deck that should solve this issue, apologies!

Hi, yeah, I just installed it and started playing for the first time due to hearing about the new update and saw that the movies were playing really poorly, which was odd since I looked up gameplay footage from a while back and they were running at 60fps in those videos.

Ah yeah the devs that make the engine the game runs on (Game Maker) has confirmed a fix is on the way from them, so once they fix it we'll patch it as soon as we can! Sorry for the issue!)

No problem! Thanks for the quick reply.
Through the magic of Moonlight streaming, I was able to just stream the game from my main PC over to my Steam Deck docked in the living room and it worked flawlessly that way in the meantime.
