Darold the Doomer is possibly one of the best Free-to-Play games I've ever played.

It has such an intricate, story-rich plot, (possibly comparable to that of Red Dead Redemption 2), in which the player, (Darold), goes on a misadventure in what is presumed to be an LSD induced coma.

While in this coma, Darold meets some of the residents who reside in this realm and is tasked with an objective, TO ESCAPE.....but not before he does some stuff.

You must go through 4 stages in the base game, it's got some replay-ability aspects to the game as well, providing a way to get multiple bad/good endings.

The DLC, "Back 2 Reality", is what takes place after the coma, which I also definitely recommend, it's only a $1 or $2.

All in all, I'd like to see more of Darold The Doomer and think he deserves more recognition.

LSD: Dream Emulator if it was a videogame.

Great, Quick game. Good use of music and relies on the player to fill in the blanks of the story.
Big fan of the visuals and some of the character design had me scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Although, I do feel that the game could/should be expanded, to feel more complete.

This game is among the most interesting hidden gems I have ever found. For a generous price of FREE.99 you can get a solid hour long surreal experience with a phenomenal soundtrack, interesting story, and sweet artwork. I absolutely love the style of this game. That is primarily what got me to play it. I'm very glad I did.

Janxferz truly created something beautiful here. Every single character you encounter is interesting and unique in their own right. The same can be said about almost every landscape and building you will explore. The dialogue is great, and is made better by the unsettling voices they have. The art direction here is an A+ no matter how you put it. (P.S. pleeeease add Steam cards, badges, and emotes!)

After completing it, I was interested in the DLC. For $2.00 you can get a continuation of the story and find out what happens after the main character wakes up from his trip. Almost immediately I wishlisted it. The next day I replayed the story, found the easter eggs, and figured that it was simply so good that I must find out what happens after. I also flat out wanted to support the developer as thanks for such a good, FREE experience.

Looking at the product page we can see that the DLC doesn't use the unsettling 3D style that the original game does. I load up the game and expect to see at least one scene with the eye catching 3D style, but there was none. This was immensely disappointing. The RPGMaker assets and boring artwork was really offputting to me after playing the original game.

The dialogue is alright. The story is alright. The DLC, in my opinion, is just alright. If you are like me and wanted to see how the story ends, it is fully worth the low price.

You should try this out boys.

your character start out really strong and tanky
you have potent healing spell with low MP required to cast
the story is very straightfoward and overal really short
it has voiceover for dialogues even in battle with Windows XP Voice Synthesizer aesthetic
also it's free!
