there's a bug on level 14 that the mother didn't go upstairs and the game just stuck so I had to retry it

I don't know how to post a photo, the function of steam sucks. The bug is on the final step of level 14,when both of them should go on the lift towards the final space. But the lift is too fast so the mother failed to get on the lift.

I think you're mistaken (if I understand correctly where you are)
In the final scene/step in level 14, it is only the daughter who goes up to the top of the final highest tower. The mother stays behind, on the star-shaped platform just a little bit below.

I guess the symbolism is that the daughter is now fully independent and ready to go on, on her own...

Not sure why you posted that msg here in this thread? This iisn't a general bug thread or anything. And anyway, previous poster's problem wasn't a bug either, just a misunderstanding (I'm pretty sure).

As for stuck problems in forest in the Monument Valley II game, there's a few people had problems with that earlier. And although you're not including much of a description in your post, I'm guessing it may be the same thing.
Use 'search' function, or just scroll to earlier threads, to see descriptions, screen shots, and suggstions for tweaks to solve it - in separate threads here on the Comments forum already.

Nope, OP was not mistaken. After the mother and daughter step on the circle buttons simultaneously, they're both supposed to walk onto the central ^-shaped platform to bring them higher. In my first playthrough, however, the mother was a step late and the platform only carried the daughter. I had to restart from the last checkpoint.

I encountered the same bug as the OP.
For those who encountered it, you can just leave the chapter, select the same chapter and then select resume, to play that last part again.
