how to save your progress?

i played until chapter 5 yesterday, and then today when i wanted to start the game, my whole progress was gone and started again from the beginning. is there any way i can save the game?

It autosaves after each completed level.
I think what may be confusing you is that when you open the game again, it opens at level 1. But just turn the "level cube" on further and you will see that you are able to start from the level you were at before.
