Are the reviews reasonable?
Is the performance, experience as bad as they suggest? Was looking to buy this game!

Yes and no? There are some folks on PC who are experiencing crashes in the game. It isn't the majority of folks, but they are understandably upset. The devs are fully aware and they've been investigating since the first posts popped up.

For the folks who aren't experiencing that crash issue, there are some reports of bouncing cars, unearned achievement unlocks, or hair glitches, etc. These are not impacting gameplay itself but are also understandably annoying.

Thanks for the quick reply Troy, appreciate it. I´ll wait it out a bit.
Idk I really liked the game :D a bit derpy yes, but they clearly put effort into creating a lot of different parts of a human body with the patients. I prefer playing paradox games where there are systems within systems that cause Issues, but in the end that's what gives me the unique experience that no other "generically" designed game can give me

It's good to know you are on the case Troy. That said, I have played for just over an hour and have been plagued with bugs and glitches. From the bouncing cars (which isn't so bad, but is clearly a physics reset thing) to training quests that simple don't progress to the next stage and keep requiring checkpoint restarts to get them to work. I also had my gurney levitate about a meter off the ground when picking up the cyclist patient, because her friend was in the way (and the option to ask him to move was disabled). I had to reset the checkpoint again on that one too.

Also, it seems that on every emergency, the exit from the hospital is blocked by traffic that just sits there because the sirens are on, presumably meaning we shouldn't activate emergency sirens when we start - just sit there and wait patiently while someone is bleeding out?

Also, the training missions are clunky, with dialogues from the training paramedic often delaying any option to select life-saving treatment until they decide to stop talking. And even then, the option is still ghosted for quite a while.

It's an interesting game and fascinating to see how the life of a paramedic is simulated, but let's be honest here - this is clearly in heavy Beta quality at the moment.

I'm hovering over the refund button :manthinking:

It fascinates me or should I say boggles my mind when/why Developers release a game in such a state. Cause either A. They didn´t run into these issues on their (test) computers or B. They ran into the same bugs and issues but decided to release the game regardless (with many negative reviews and ditto first impression.

It feels a bit like they were perhaps pressured to release the game. If I were a dev' I would not have been happy about releasing at this questionable quality. Unfortunately, it's pretty common practice in the gaming industry now. I could be wrong, but as you suggested, there's really no way they could have missed this level of jank unless they had zero testing - which is unlikely. :dwarfbeer:
