Medication/Treatment Expansion
I have read some of the forum posts and I appreciate that you guys have worked with paramedics for the game and have been responding to feedback. I am currently a medical student and former paramedic and I have enjoyed the demo a lot and I am very excited for the full release. I have a few major concerns, however.

First off is the physiology of the patients vitals. I understand it is not perfectly easy to simulate in a realistic manner without making it super predictable, however I do believe there is a bit of a disconnect in how some of my patients respond to some treatments. A good resource to potentially look at is "full code medical simulation" because they have some great patient physiology. That being said, the next issue that comes with that is the available medications. I looked through the list of unlockables in the future and a few things were missing that I was hoping to see. One thing is saline bags, it is more common in EMS to hang a bag of saline rather than just a flush. The next super big thing is adding Zofran. I was playing the demo and my burn patient got nauseated after I gave her morphine, but I felt bad because I couldn't do anything about it. The next thing is the ability to do EKG's and apply EKG leads to the patients. I feel like that will likely be in the full game due to the ability to see v fib and defibrillate and I just over looked it. Leading next into the cardiology aspect, i see that nitroglycerin is unlocked with "Hypertensive Crisis." However, I think it would be good to add a sublingual tab for the chest pain patients along with an aspirin pill like real life. The last final thing, somewhat cardiology related again I know I am sorry. I don't believe the intention was to make a medical simulation game, however as you have seen by many other posts and support forums that there are a wholeeeee lot of us medical professionals eager to play. With that the last thing is codes... I saw the dev respond to one of the posts saying the full game will give the player the option to ride in the back while the NPC drives (thank goodness). I am hoping this will allow us to run codes and with that some things will be needed like standard code drugs: bicarb, calcium, (epi already in the game), and maybe amiodarone. Finally with that you should also be able to place an IO in the case of an emergency and maybe offer a bigger size IV as well for these emergent patients like codes or traumas that need higher volumes of fluid resuscitation.

I know that was a lot of information, but those were my opinions and suggestions!!
I can't way for February 6th to unlock all the current stuff in the game and I look forward to the future!!! Great work guys. :)

Thank you for all of your feedback!

I did want to call one thing out, though. This feature you mention in the quote above is not a thing in Ambulance Life. I'm not sure where you read that, but, as the player, you are responsible for any and all actions in the game, including transport!

Here is the post I am referring to:

"Hi Demoness, thanks a ton for your detailed feedback! These are fantastic points, and we’ll definitely try to adress them along to our dev team. By the way, feel free to join our Discord! We already have a great community, including many people from the medical industry, and your input is always incredibly valuable to us.

Just to give you some quick answers:

1. Transport is significant part of the experience in Ambulance Life so we made that decision to reverse the roles so players were able to perform treatment AND transport to get a fuller experience.

2. While we aim to stay as close to reality as possible, certain gameplay decisions, like separating phases of asking questions while looking over the patient, were made to enhance player comfort and avoid task overload. It’s always a balancing act between realism and playability.

3. We absolutely agree that the partner's behavior needs improvement, and it’s something we’re focused on before the final release!

4. This has been a recurring piece of feedback from the demo, and we’re committed to working on it.

Thanks again for your insights, and we hope to see you in the Discord soon!

Ishtu posted this. I notice in the first section they say "to perform treatment AND transport to get a fuller experience" and I think now that you say that I misunderstood the response. They are saying you treat in the back and drive the ambulance to get the full experience of all aspects of being a paramedic. While I am not a super big fan of that, I understand that decision. On top of that, I have seen a couple times that the partner has asked me for a suggestion for an action to treat the patient while I am driving which is an excellent way to give those players who want that extra treatment experience. Thank you for your response and clarification!! :steamhappy:

Ooooooh yeah that makes sense! Thanks for that, we'll try to be more clear in the future!

We'd love to expand on those "in the moment" type actions, but not sure the direction we want to take. So we're excited to see what players think after they really get their hands on it.

Thanks again for reaching out!!
