Support and Bug Reporting
Thank you for playing Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore on PC! This thread will serve as a central hub for any technical issues with the game as well as any known issues that crop up. This thread is for technical issues only.

REPORTING ISSUES:

When reporting a bug, crash, or technical issue, please provide the following information:
  • PC Specs (dxdiag output is extremely helpful!)
  • Steps to reproduce (what you were doing in the game)
  • Save data and control data files (savedata.ini and controls.dat, located in your Local App Data (%localappdata%) /Arzette folder)
  • If the game crashed, please provide the crash dialog text either copy and pasted or screenshotted
Please email support@seedyeyesoftware.com with “Arzette Bug Report” in the subject line with the information provided above (please attach your save and control data files as well). Sending reports via email ensures I am able to track the issue. Emails will be logged, but will not be responded to.

TIPS:

Here are some helpful tips for ensuring your journey in Faramore is smooth sailing:

  • Make sure you are on the latest patch.
  • Make sure your PC meets the minimum requirements listed on the Steam page.
  • Ensure your graphic drivers are updated.
  • Add the game’s executable file (Arzette.exe) as an exception to your antivirus software.
  • Turn off power saving modes in your Windows options.
  • Make sure only one controller is plugged into your PC. If you have multiple, disconnect all and only connect the one you wish to play with.
  • If you are using a DualSense on PC (particularly connected over USB), you might experience vibrations throughout gameplay because Windows has set the DualSense as the audio device. Switching the audio device from the DualSense to your preferred audio source in Windows may fix this. Alternatively, follow these steps:

    * Click Start
    * Type Sound Setting and press Enter
    * In the Choose your output device dropdown, select Speakers (Wireless Controller)
    * Click Device properties
    * Under Related Settings, click Additional device properties
    * Click the Enhancements tab
    * To enable or disable, check or uncheck the Speaker Fill box
    * Click Apply
    * Click OK

  • If you are on a lower-spec machine and the game is having severe performance issues, try changing the Sleep Margin settings in the game’s options.ini file. You can find this file in the game’s install directory (options.ini). Change SleepMargin=0 to SleepMargin=10 and restart the game.
  • If your system has a slower CPU that is having trouble decompressing and streaming the game’s textures (you run into checkerboard backgrounds often or experience severe stuttering as the game’s assets are being loaded in), you can try pre-loading all of the game’s textures into memory at launch. To do this, create a text file named preload (exact filename should be preload.txt) in the game’s install directory. Note that you must have sufficient video memory and RAM to do this. Remove the preload.txt file or reinstall the game if you run into issues.
  • If you have used any mods or otherwise modified your install directory, uninstall them or re-install the game. Support will not be given to users playing with a modified game.
  • If you are playing on Steam Deck and videos appear as "color bars" or otherwise don't play correctly, try installing Proton GE. (https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom).
  • If you are getting a crash when opening the item menu, try turning on Steam Input and seeing if that resolves the crash.
  • If you are playing on Steam Deck and the game appears to be running in "slow motion", make sure that the frame limiter is either disabled or set to 60 FPS (60 Hz) under Steam Deck Performance settings.

Note that support will only be given to players using Windows PCs at this time.

I believe I was in the Chillinax stage where I took damage and then proceeded to never be able to pick rupees up again. I can pick up Smart Gun souls, but not rupees. I went to another stage, still couldn't pick them up. I quit the game and re-launched it, and my save still can't pick up rupees.

Just started playing, everything ran fine until I quit the game for a moment, now whenever I try to open the item menu, the game crashes and gives an error code.

EDIT: It seems to happen when a controller is connected through USB-C

Dumb question, is your wallet full? At about 500 Rubies?

Could there be a way to change the resolution? The default is way too small and as of now there is no way of changing it

Game doesn't seem to recognize keyboard inputs at all. It shows "virtual button" or something when trying to rebind keyboard but doesn't acknowledge them at all.

I'm having this problem too but I don't have a controller connected via USB-C. Game was working fine yesterday but now crashes any time I try to open up the item menu. I'm playing on Steam Deck.

Restarting my system seemed to fix the issue.

I noticed the game stuttering about once a second when running on refresh rates above 60hz (tried 120hz and 144hz), but setting my display to 60hz eliminated that. Could just be user error though lol

getting to boss 5 on boss rush unlocks the "get all heart containers" achievement

I've had one instance where the dungeon where you get the sacred oil wouldn't register that all enemies in the room had been killed, but using an escape rope and re-entering seemed to fix it.

(This was on PS5) I was fighting the cat boss, and it just so happened we both shot a killing blow at each other at the same frame. This made the cat's death cutscene play over and over infinitely, forcing me to reset the game.

Unfortunately, this also made it so I didn't get the cat's shard, and only hours later when I was at the end of the game did I realise it was literally unbeatable. The overworld shows that I got the shard for the snow area, but the inventory shows only 4/5 shards collected.

Hi there, so sorry this occurred! This is a known issue; a patch was submitted to certification that fixes it. The patch should be live within a week or two. Once the game is updated, the repeating bug shouldn't occur and your Jewel Shard amount will be corrected.

In the Boss Rush mode, If you electrify your sword at the 2nd to last boss and die, you start out with an electrified sword that can deal damage until you get hit, at which point it reverts to the normal sword.

Also, not really sure if this can be "patched" out, but you can cheese achievements by save editing and then defeating Daimur (e.g. changing the save file to not have the Smart Gun or setting the difficulty to hard or classic.)

no I don't know how I know that last one
