Here we go again 😔
I just have a flashback from Ride 4 game. People start to complain writing negative reviews about difficult handling, that direction change is too slow and they do not like it.

Really!? The fact you have skill issue and do not understand how bikes work in real life is the reason for giving negative review? Is it that hard to look into input settings and change steering sensitivity? Or to upgrade bike to make it more agile?

There is something jak gyroscopic effect of the wheels so the faster you go on the bike the harder it turns. It is that simple…

And of course devs will take a look at it to make it better (read easier and unrealistic) so expect the experience to be dumbed down šŸ˜”šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Yes, Internet 2.0. Today everything has to be served on a silver plate - without any effort. Woe't be a challenge, then ♄♄♄♄♄♄♄♄♄ is the order of the day.

They better not give into the gamers, they have games,we want a simulation.
They even gave what like 3 setting modes so anyone can at least play and they still want more?

Imagine gatekeeping a game
Yes of course, ive had soo many motorbike racing games dumbed down and then the player base drops anyway and the people who love bikes and want to play motorbike games are left with an arcade game, of course ill gate keep whats hard to make perfect :MotoGP21bike:

Gatekeeping is not always a bad thing, some times it’s needed not to dilute a brand or a hobby.

People play bike games in 3rd person...... even most racing reviewers...

I am curious... how many commenting here have actually taken a real super bike on a track at 200mph? If you haven't, how do you know what is realistic?

The gyroscopic effect is nowhere as strong as is being claimed by folks. A 600cc and a 1000cc have the same wheel diameters and generally the same tires, and thus near identical wheel gyroscopic effects. Further the weight difference is only about 10%. The only real difference is that the 1000cc motors can have a somewhat stronger gyroscopic effect that depends on engine RPM, and is not super strong at high rpm either (though it is noticeable).

A motorcycle's high speed stability (aka resistance to turning) has a lot to do with the rake of the front tire; racing bikes have very small rakes (~25 degrees), vs something like a cruiser (~45 degrees) which enable racing bikes to be flicked into corners easily, even at high speeds, while a cruiser is far more ponderous (but also far more resistant to external forces such as wind gusts).

One thing I really wish they would do with this game is get rid of the upgrade system, it is it is utter nonsense. I don't know how much that is hurting the performance of motorcycles in this game (I do not own this game yet), but from what I have seen the performance is nowhere near real world.

Anyways here are some onboard footage from the TT on liter bikes. The real world bikes have no problems handling the corners even in top gear.

PS as for Milestone games, those games are really far off from reality, and they have never really bothered improving either the 'simulation' of the bikes, or the god awful ai.

Imagine being so self absorbed you literally cry until a dev sacrifices the original vision of how their game plays.

Not about it being realistic or not, it feels amazing to ride. Same as ride 4 didn’t at one point but they dumbed it down for the reason some found it too difficult and was un willing to get good at it. I don’t want a ā€œrealisticā€ bike game I want a game that feels authentic and fun. Still the Arcade and intermediate setting is there for a easier time.

Not the people that are unwilling to learn, but it is because the Steam refund policy.

Lots of players want the game to be giving them that dopamine before the two hour mark and guess what... it takes much more than 2h to be having the reward from being skilled enough at a bike game, especially for players that had no bike gaming experiences or had the previous titles in the muscle memory and any different experience is by default negative.

Just needed to read the negative reviews, looking at the hours played, finding a 'previous game was better' and connecting the dots.

It is the price of too wide of a spotlight. It dilutes everything.

20 years ago, we had simulators being developed for the wide market (Nascar 2003). If such legendary effort was in place today the forums would boil up asking the steering to be 'less laggy' and the tyres 'more grippy' and imagine the reaction from the unrecoverable spins naturally a Nascar race car can get into.

It is hard not to agree with you…
Nowadays games are rushed, unfinished… was it because of laziness, deadlines or is ot business model - lets not finish the game so we will have things to fix improve in next title.
M_Stoner May 12, 2023 @ 12:18pm
Gtr2 is a game that should send a great example how a racing sim should be, these days they rushed out bugs n all, doesnt matter what game it is with triple A title, boils down to money most developers, greed, TT3 is still good though going in the right direction

Personally I think they did a stellar job on the Physics. It's perfect. Better than Ride 4, MotoGP and RiMS. I haven't riden a bike at 200mph though, but it feels like I imagine it should.

With regard gyroscopic effect. I did race Mountain bikes, and it was well known to use rear brake in corners more than front as braking the front while leaning pulls the front wheel upwards/straight thus making turning much harder. Probably most people know this anyhow.
