[BUG] Graphical Bug - Odd Sprite Highlighting
As stated in my previous post, I mentioned a graphical bug, and I managed to get it again.

While playing my first run of the day, I made it to the cabin, but as I approached, I noticed some of the sprites highlighted as though they were glowing, but this effect changes depending on where you are standing.

Here are the screenshots that I managed to grab:
  • In this first screenshot, I am standing in front of the cabin, and things appear normal.
  • In the second screenshot, I am took only 1 step to the east, and you can see that the sprites, to the southwest of the cabin, are noticeably lightening in color.
  • In screenshot number three, I continue moving away from the affected sprites, to the point where they are completely outside of my vision / light range, but the issue persists.
  • I should point out that moving back to where I was standing in the first screenshot, does cause the odd coloration to fade again.
  • In the fourth screenshot, I have continued around the west side of the cabin, but when I get to that point, the bug returns. Interestingly enough, the sprites that were affected before, appear normal now, but the sprites on the northwestern corner of the cabin are affected worse than the former group. Furthermore, you can see that there is some minor highlighting around the eastern corner of the cabin as well as a few 3x3 squares of trees in the forest.
  • In screen shot number five, the sprites on the western side of the cabin are now highlighted to the point that they appear to be completely white, and you can more clearly see a 3x3 patch of highlighted trees.
  • In the sixth (and final) screenshot, the bug has continued to progress. It is now affecting the player sprite as well as the environmental sprites.

System Specs:
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit, Version 21H2, Build 19044.2604, Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9, 3950X, 16-core, 3.50GHz
  • RAM: 32 GB, DDR4, 4000 MHz / 16 GB Cached M.2
  • GPU: Geforce RTX 3080, EVGA FTW3 Ultra
  • Graphics Driver: GeForce Game Ready Driver, Version 528.24
  • Resolution: 2560 x 1440, 74.599 Hz

EDIT: Saving and exiting, quitting to desktop, relaunching, and loading the save appears to have fixed the bug.

This is almost definitely some type of lighting effects not being cleared properly. It might be the animation effect from the dimension shredder, or something else. I'll take a look.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
