Report a translation problem
If your controller is wireless, connect it via Bluetooth and check in the Steam configuration section (upper left on the Steam page) that your controller is selected and then open the game and check if it works.
In case the second solution has not worked, I recommend installing virtual controller emulators such as DSX. which will be responsible for fooling your PC that you are playing with a wired controller when in reality you are using it wirelessly. (the solution I currently use and the one I recommend the most)
If none of the options worked, you will have to open big picture mode and activate the steam input function.
