Can you play this game and multiplayer without an EA account or do you need one to play on Steam???

Someone please help i really want pvz gw2 on my pc, but i don't want to waste money if i can't even play online.

i think you need to wait until ea server is fixed but i dont really now when that will happen. just wait. i bought this game and i enjoy so you can do the same if it'll be ok

II'm sorry but I think we've confused something. let me give you some context. I don't have an Ea games account but since I have the game "spore" I know you can play Single Player. What i'm wondering is will I need an account to play multiplayer Modes, such as, Garden Ops?
