Need help on resetting my character levels/rank

Ever since the ban tools fiasco i havent played in fear of getting banned when i got back on after EA patched the ban ive seen that all my characters have gotten max rank but no upgrades or anything else even the ones I never played got max rank the reason why I want to reset is so that i can have progression back into my game although atleast playing the game is enough for me being restricted to no upgrades can be a bummer. So does anyone have a solution to my problem?

Unlink your EA account from your steam account. Then make a new EA account, link that account to your same steam account that has GW2, play, and your progress should be reset

Edit: tried doing it but it says unlink available until december 29 oh well guess i gotta wait
