Tried origin also and it just claims it's a unidentified game.
All Nite Diner : I bought Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 directly from Electronic Arts years ago. However, the following may help. I encountered similar errors when I tried to install on a new PC.
I am running Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 on Windows 11 with an AMD processor.
I installed both games by downloading the EA client for PC (no longer the older Origin client).
After installing the required C++ libraries, no problems running either game on a modern x64 PC with Windows 11.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare needs Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable package.
Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 needs Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package.

You can check error logs on your PC here:
C:\ProgramData\Origin
If either PVZ game is throwing an error, you will see the error in the log file.
For me, the log referenced a missing dll file. The missing dll was different for the original PVZ GW and PVZ GW2.
When I searched the missing dll file name on the web, the link led to the C++ package which can be downloaded from Microsoft and installed on your PC.
I haven't had any conflicts on my PC with those older C++ packages installed.
Me : What worked for me was specifically getting the 2013 Visual C++ pack
[Assumptions]
The EA app is installed
Plants VS Garden Warfare 2 is installed
[Steps to Fix]
[1] If the EA app is running, shut it down.
[2] Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package
Copy this URL and paste into your browser. Go to this Microsoft page. Download and install.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
[3] After installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package, re-start your PC.
[4] Launch the EA app
[5] Launch Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2. It should successfully complete the launch process now and you should be able to play it.
[Extra Information]
If you decide to un-install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package, you can do that in Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps. Scroll down to find Microsoft Visual C++ 2013. There is an option to un-install it (this applies to all installed apps).
PVZGW2 is fun to play on PC with an Xbox One controller connected via Bluetooth.
