hello! i was gifted this game for my birthday from a long time pal, i was so excited to play this until i got that error message.

after looking up many possible fixes from installing multible microsoft visuals to uninstalling both origin and the game to using the "fix" option in origin and to even installing direct x

my last option is downloading a graphics drive but i refuse to do that, my drivers are perfectly up to date as well. so im in a rut here fellas, another fix i can do is try to find where the game is installing at but thanks to knowing nothing about the inner workings of a pc im a stoop, if you know any other fixes i would love to know, or even how to find where the game is installing at because i've been DYING to play this game for years now, and i won't let a silly error message stop me!

You could try verifying the integrity of the game's files on steam, perhaps something didn't download correctly that origin's fix isn't catching. Right click the game, click properties and go to local files to find this option.

There you can also find the option to open the game's files in your os' file explorer.

I bought Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare and PVZ GW2 directly from Electronic Arts years ago. However, the following may help your situation. I encountered the exact error reported in your comment (Big A-ron).

I am running Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 on Windows 11 with an AMD processor.

I installed both games by downloading the EA client for PC (no longer the older Origin client).

After installing the required C++ libraries, no problems running either game on a modern x64 PC with Windows 11.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare needs Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable package.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 needs Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package.

Google search "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable package" or "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable package" and you will find the corresponding installer.

You can check error logs on your PC here:

C:\ProgramData\Origin


If either PVZ game is throwing an error, you will see the error in the log file.

For me, the log referenced a missing dll file. The missing dll was different for the original PVZ GW and PVZ GW2.

When I searched the missing dll file name on the web, the link led to the C++ package which can be downloaded from Microsoft and installed on your PC.

I haven't had any conflicts on my PC with those older C++ packages installed.

also have updated drivers because the game runs at 1 fps after you play it ounce or twice no matter what you do if you do not update drivers
