Steam page has a lie on it from EA, not local split screen for PC.
Just as title says, fix this lying crap steam. EA, either fix your ♥♥♥♥, or stop lying about the PC port,

Thanks for sharing this information. I was going to buy it full of emotion thinking I found a good time to have fun with my girlfriend... A pity, but if I'm not mistaken, there's a console version of it in gamepass ultimate, you can play it on the computer through xcloud. I believe that maybe it will work

Nope, origin is horrible, entire reason it never rivaled steam. They dont have tags like steam, and the description is literally a carbon copy of the steam one. Good luck figuring out gameplay options if you purchase on the origin store.

I bought it to play with friends, but especially to play split screen with my kids.

Its still fun, but its lost 70% of its fun for me if I cant play with them.

Already used the report option on steam for this lying BS from EA.

i'll be honest origin has no way of being actual competition to steam, because it, and other launchers like bethesda's, act more like what steam was quite a long time ago, as in being a updater for valve games

bethesda has officially shut down their launcher in favor of steam, btw ;>

but don't expect EA to do that anytime soon...
EA remove the s/s / local functionality from their PC games; likely, in order to better incentivise purchases of the more expensive-to-distribute hard copy, console games. That, or as part of some deal with the console companies themselves... Could also be an indirect way to try and gimp / dissuade "piracy" --0 i.e., tie all / most MP functionality to proprietary servers.

Take a look through the catalogue of EA MP games, and you'll find the pattern emerge. Even the Gears of War makers have adopted this internecine strategy: GoW5 only included campaign local co-op for the PC version; with Horde (the primary replay value of the product) and PvP split-screen modes, which are present on console, removed.

The irony being, it's dastardly and prejudicial design choices like this that keep many from buying the associated games / games from the associated companies. If the local MP suite in GoW5 were intact on PC, I'd have bought that game long ago; were it left in for PvZ:GW2, I'd have thrown down a few bucks for it without a second thought, and then even likely bought copies for friends--if the game were fun. Instead, I just ignore these titles before I even entertain getting them -_-

I don't get why developers refuse to put split screen on pc games, such bs.
The diddle mister May 18, 2022 @ 8:23pm
Just buy your kids a pc all of em then you can play.
The diddle mister May 18, 2022 @ 8:24pm
Wouldn't be that expensive to get them all a pc to run this game it barely takes a 80$ computer to run this probably just get each kid a pc and bam!

Yeah just buy more computers and more copies of the game rewarding this sack of ♥♥♥♥ publisher for their false advertising further, what a great solution.

Ive literally built my own computers since 05. You have no idea what computers actually cost mate lol.

Also, they have their own computers. Im not going to reward EA for POS stuff like this false advertising by buying more copies of the game.

Its actually a violation of steams rules to falsely advertise like this. They cant tag this game as shared/split screen coop if it doesnt actually have it, thats my point. Ive already used the flag on the games page to report it to steam.

Thanks for the heads up - I just purchased it to play split-screen with my daughter (we had tons of fun playing on the PS4 version), and saw this thread; my refund is already in the works.

Guess I'll have to dig out the PS4 sometime... :stimulation:
