While I was logging out, the game clearly showed there was data in slot 1.
Browse the local files through Steam, and I cant even see a Saved or SavedGame directory anywhere. Re-launching finds no save data.
Guess I was due for that reminder of why playing immediately upon launch is rarely a wise idea, no matter how keen you are to enjoy a great new game.
EDIT: Correction, I do have the Saved directory structure elsewhere. It's just in AppData, not in the local files install path that Steam opens for you. I've now backed that up, but not sure if that means I've got my progress there or had already overwritten it with a blank when I tested re-launching the game.
Edit: Submitted a ticket, and checked the save file - it was last modified when I closed the game the first time, so hopefully the data isn't gone. I uploaded the save file within the ticket, hopefully that helps track it down.
Edit 2: For reference, I quit the game right after completing Act 1.
The save file path is: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Chorus\Saved\SaveGames
Edit. Restarted the game a couple of times, saving into different slots, and it seems fine now.
Glad I decided to poke into the forum first, just went and backed my save game up from the Appdata folder.. no idea if mine will be wiped when I launch again
It happened to me in the middle of Act II after I quit the game the first time. After starting a second game I haven't encountered the problem again (I've opened and closed the game several times since).
Will probably hold off on restarting the game until this issue has been resolved.
Then on reboot, savegame gone.
Yeah I'm... I'm a little annoyed at this. This is why I save in multiple slots, which the team here has decided to disallow, to prevent savescumming I'm sure but... I looked for manual save options plenty, didn't find any and now can either replay a pretty linear plot for three or four hours or.. just move on for a while
A real shame, I was pretty hyped for launch.
Came back to say a similar thing. The new game I started is using Slot 2 that I've closed and relaunched the game a few times to test it, seems to be okay. So maybe Slot 1 is a bad apple somehow? Still backing up my save files as I go though, just in case.
On 2nd launch, my progress was gone, and then it asked me for consent to collect data.
I wonder if this could be related?
(I just noticed that there is a "N = skip line" function. So I guess I'll try to get through it all one more time.)
