Technical Support Thread - Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical
Thank you for playing Stray Gods!

This thread is our technical support thread. It's important to note that the final planned patch for Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical shipped on the 26/6 2024, so further reports may not be resolved. Please note that the majority of our team is located in Australia, so time zones and working hours might also be a factor in us responding to you.

RESOLVED ISSUES
- Save bug issue.
- Audio levels for dialogue across the game can be uneven.
- Overuse of the skip button at pace can cause issues with the game.
- Pan sequence repetition/timing.
- Binding arrow keys and D-pad for actions will cause issues with gameplay due to these being hardcoded for navigation. Some keys you are unable to bind to (Esc) and if you’re binding on PC for a controller, L2, R2, Start (Gamepad Special Right), and the left joystick cannot be rebound due to their usage being hardcoded.
- Fix for bug where trait selections were incorrectly inaccessible
- Fixes for bugs when pausing during load screens/audio descriptions
- Additional optimization
- Several minor cinematic fixes
- Minor environmental tweaks
- Fixes for Option Menu bugs (some visual and technical)
- Update to New Game Menu to make overwriting saves more explicit
- Removed Gamesight functionality
- Re-sized UI scaling to handle localized text
- Re-localized some text that was not translated
- Fix for some subtitles not appearing
- Improved controller navigation
- Support for Stray Gods: Orpheus

NOT BUGS:
If anything is interpreted as a bug but is working as intended, we'll also list those here.

- Some players have reported a narrator voice being turned on - this is actually the audio description feature and is intended for use by vision impaired players to support their gameplay experience. Please check your settings if you are hearing a 'narrator' voice to ensure this is your intention.

GENERAL ISSUES:
If anything is an issue we see people encounter semi-frequently, but is not a bug, we'll be listing that here.

So, I just got the game and I'm noticing a lot of visual issues where Grace, and many characters become pixelated, or the screen has the whole scene be off color. I don't know what could be causing this.

I've reached the Underworld, and the first musical number with Orpheus stopped playing halfway through. Conversations still work fine, and I can hear the feedback when clicking buttons, but the song itself (and its lyrics) don't play.

I had the same issue and descided to save and leave the game, but when I opened it again it hadn´t saved anything and my progress was lost.

I donno if it was a bug but the same scene played twice in diff background? Like I talked to Pan in Olympus and then same conversation but in my room

i had the same thing, lost all of my progress so far sadly :( for now i've copied the save files onto my computer in seperate a folder - i hope that will help - hope u guys can resolve this issue soon

I also had the issue of loosing all my progress after i closed the game and launched it again. I was really loving the game, i hope this bug gets fixed soon!

With such a catastrophic issue, it's hard to understand why this defect wasn't found much earlier in the release cycle... Long term, add a manual save option...

Due to using a Steam Deck, the solution for lost saves won't work for me. Was mid-Act II and exited the game when data loss occurred, but achievement completion remained intact, if that helps your investigations.

I also lost save data. Made it to the Medusa number and then game crashed and I lost all save data. Back to the beginning of Act 1. This is on PS5 by the way, so it's not just Steam having issues.

Didn't work for me, still no game to load in game.
I noticed the game was re-deleting them on bootup so I even set them to read-only (And alt tabbed out and un-ticked that during the game bootup for good measure) and still nothing.
Game just lost my save despite the save files being backed up and sitting in there =(

I've been coming across an issue (so far just playing from the start to Pan arriving), where some lines have their volume 2-3x louder than other dialog in the same scene.

For clarity, this isn't the delivery being such that the line being louder would make sense for emphasis, just a lack of volume normalization between lines it seems like.
