Game stopped working entirely

My girlfriend and I last played on Canada day (July 1st) , jump to now and when trying to start the game all I get is the please wait loading screen and the girls punching each other for eternity. I have seen similar posts from people saying they deleted their saves which is something I'd like to avoid as if we have to do that just to play it I don't really trust it won't happen again. Any help would be appreciated. I am not using any mods or anything

I dont even get it, worked fine a few weeks before then decides to stop all of a sudden

Same here,i make it to the arc system logo then infinite black screen.

Same here and I posted the same issues on Nov-02, 2023 with a subject line "River City Girls 2 wouldn't start. Hang in "Please Wait" before title screen." I sent email on the same day to Wayforward and never have received any response. I reinstalled the game, Steam itself, verified integrity, turned off anti-virus software, etc. all I could imagine, and still never start. That's not hardware issue, that's absolutely Wayforward's issue.

I have a friend that went into the game files or something and said the entire save data was corrupted so he had to delete that before I could get it working again :/ its kept me from playing because whats the point if im just gonna lose my progress again maybe

Still no response on my end either,so ill assume they've abandoned the game.

Had a similiar issue with have a nice death,fix was turn of gsync,so tried it for river city girls 2 and it now works.

Had a similiar issue with have a nice death,fix was turn of gsync,so tried it for river city girls 2 and it now works.

I checked my NVIDIA Control Panel app but could not find Gsync to turn off. Can you describe more about how to do it? Also Steam refused me to refund as the game has been played well over 2 hours. (Infinity loading screen is counted as played hours.)

There’s a tab called 3D settings or something, which goes into video settings for general applications or specific ones, you might have luck there as well

In nvidia control panel under display there should be an option for gsync,its second from the bottom.

Then gsync may not be your issue

What files your friend deleted to get it working again? I deleted the whole game files found from Manage -> Browse local files and reinstalled the game but still not working. Is there anything else from somewhere else I need to delete?

Save file might be on the appdata folder, you’d need to check on either Local, LocalLow or Roaming for the WayForward folder then the RCG2 one

Edit: Path here:
C:\Users\*User name*\AppData\LocalLow\WayForward Technologies
I think you can delete the whole RCG2 folder at that if your save file is an issue, might be awful to reset your progress, but at least the game works again if that ends up being the problem
