Move list woes

I'm playing as Riki and I can't for the life of me figure out how I'm supposed to do some of these moves. Mainly the ones that say (Rapidly) at the end
His double dropkick (Ariel) says A, X (Rapidly), been in the training room for over 15 minutes, nothing. Same with Full Nelson punches (Grab) X (Rapidly)
Is this tied to the frame rate problem or something?
They really need to give better instructions on these things

Did you buy the aerial one? I found with Kyoko I bought butterfly kick but I couldn't use it because it's actually the 3rd move in the air combo and I didn't have the 2nd one. A bit annoying that you can buy moves out of order but maybe it's like that.
