The cheating issue... NBA 2K23 Edition
If you want to discuss any cheating issues in the game, this is the place to do it.

Just remember that naming and shaming goes against Steam's Code of Conduct, so anyone throwing accusations around will be reprimanded accordingly. This includes screenshots with player names. Please report cheaters to 2K Support.

A reminder that discussion on how the cheating is done is also against the rules. Even if everyone supposedly knows how to do it, don't spread it here for those who actually don't.

for me, never worked report cheaters, with video, photos..... nut only a generic email as an answer.

maybe is too much for 2k to have 1 or 2 employes in the different servers walking among the players to see if someone is breaking the rules.

but when you leave one match, due to are 1 or more cheaters in the match, you receive an auto 30 minutes ban for bad sportmanship....

But it's not just 1 or 2 employees, each server would need 24/7 surveillance in your plan. And is it even possible to catch every type of cheat from being on the server?

just adding a go-to steam profile button on the scoreboard would solve the whole cheat issue but they don't care. most ppl cheats bcuz they know noone is banned in the last 7 years.

if cheaters see someone is getting banned they'll stop they can't afford to buy a 100$ game. 2k can't ban people bcuz they can't find the cheater when u report them. most of them running with square names lol.

I agree that being able to access the Steam profile would help a lot towards identifying the cheaters and increase the likeliness of a punishment being given out.

That said, it doesn't help your stance when you include hyperbole like "no-one gets banned" when that's not true.

I can't recall the last time I had a clean experience in an NBA game. Is it overreacting when it's so blatantly obvious?

Can't just play with friends? Either real or online? Can't get groups together of like minded folk? I never got the appeal to play with thousands and thousands of strangers. You do you, just saying, I prefer games with friends, a whole lot more fun in every way.

Zeo everyone that played on 3vs3 (i think on 16 floor) saw a player stacked 24/7 about 6 meters tall, body cheated, offering cheats with a url as a name.

and he was there forever.

i dont know if is there is a lot of money for 2k hire a person that could run 35 hours week through servers looking for "strange things" from players or game itself...

i think is lack of interest (only my feeling)

You're missing my point. There are some that are easy to spot and some that aren't. You can't confirm the cheats that aren't visible just be being on the server. It won't eradicate the cheaters.

Remember that this is a business, it's not just the cost of hiring people to patrol the servers, it's whether it would make more money to do so. Ideally, everything would be done to protect the integrity of the online experience, but that might not be best for business.

hi (it seem that youre the only user that i reply to hahaha, dont get as a mad thing, is because im too talkative

in the park, you can see very easy players with archetype and value, and when you click in their player card, you can check if there is any discrepancy)

usually i found 3 types of cheaers:
- all around threaths
- different value player Card than sticker
- physical attributes (extra long arms, etc...)

the main thing as other user said before, i think is there is not easy to attach the player to his steam profile (and i dont know if 2k develpers internally could do it)

this year there was a 14 feet guy standing middle of the park 24/7. he was promoting cheat in his name. he's still there reports didn't help. can give you so many examples

it's not hyperbole, 2k only bans if u glitch vc or use an exp bot on offline career. bcuz they can see suspicious vc & exp changes on their panel but they can't catch park reports. lets say i reported a guy named "tom" . there is too many "tom" they won't be able to find it.

Those are the easy ones, sure. There are probably others that aren't as easy to spot and wouldn't be caught by having someone appearing on the servers. I'm not saying they shouldn't do it, just that it won't get everyone.

And I've been saying for years that a Steam ID link would be great start for reporting the cheaters to 2K Support.

So those I have seen who say some people have been banned are lying? I'm not saying the obvious ones don't get banned (the ones you described should be the first in the firing line), I'm not saying you're lying about that. I'm saying that claiming that "no-one" gets banned is a false claim.

Unfortunately, it's not known what investigations are possible to do at 2K Support to look into reported cheaters, only that the Steam ID and evidence help more than anything else. If you've reported that 14-footer with screenshots, videos, timestamps and the like and they didn't even get a short suspension, I would love to know what was missing.

They only get banned if it involves VC.

Yeah that's why I suggested years ago they could literally have an intern walk around the park for a few minutes a day and they would probably clean up 30 people at a time. It's not a huge amount because that's how prevalent it is but it's a step in the right direction. If I can't play because everybody is cheating they shouldn't get to play either.

Of course they could also add the most rudimentary cheat protection because the way to cheat hasn't changed in all these years but y'know, that's how much(little) they care.
