How is it handling paddle controllers?
I only see three games on the 2600 list that originally used paddles (Canyon Bomber, Warlords, Demons to Diamonds) but I'm curious to know how they are handing paddles for them.

They will work with the mouse an analog thumbstick. Same thing for the arcade Trak-Ball games. The 5200 versions of Missile Command and Super Breakout can also use the mouse, but oddly, the mouse doesn't work for Millipede, which is a bit disappointing. I have a repro cart for my real 5200 and it uses the Trak-Ball, so it's surprising it doesn't work with the mouse here.

The original controllers for the 5200 always get criticized but I really liked them. They were analog and had potentiometers for the joysticks, an alphanumeric pad, two fire buttons, and three administrative buttons. The joysticks worked just like a trackball. I remember I could control the speed and location of the character of cursor precisely, and my hands would never hurt or be tired because they didn't automatically center. The plastic cover for the base of the joysticks would shred over time and eventually I just removed them but those were cosmetic only. I also liked how you could store the joysticks inside the compartment at the back of the console. I got used to the non centering feature for games like Pac-Man. Wow you could really use them nicely for Robotron and Space Dungeon with the included holder for both joysticks.

The problem with the 5200 controllers was that they broke very often. They were very fragile.

Only the cosmetic plastic cover for the base of the joysticks. The functionality was not affected.

You can also 3D print a paddle adapter for Xbox One controllers if you like. Needs a skate bearting but works very well for things like Warlords and Neo Breakout. thingiverse.com/digitaleclipse/designs

Dan Amrich, any way you can get "<developer>" to appear after your name, so that everyone knows that your posts carry weight?

Maybe, but I'm not sure what that process would be! :) I'll ask, but I'll keep answering anyway.

We appreciate it. By the way, some of our comments might seem harsh but it's because we are passionate about Atari and this gets in the way of our manners, sometimes, but I freely admit we need to be courteous at all times.

Speaking of the analog controls, they're great on mouse but there's a weird bug where mouseclicks aren't registering unless the mouse is in motion while you click. It's making Centipede/Millipede and Missile Command almost unplayable.

Oh no.

'No Kaboom!' ? That game was amazing.
What about 'Night Driver'? That had fun moments with turns or hills or w/e they were.

And thx for info.

Kaboom is an Activision game -- it just ran on Atari hardware.

Night Driver, I'm still hoping could appear as DLC. It was one I was surprised didn't make the cut, either as arcade or 2600.
