Questions for Digital Eclipse about the Atari 50.
1 - Me: Will the PC version be able to use the mouse to control certain games? (Type Akka Arrh, Missile Command, Crystal Castles).

Digital Eclipse: Yes, PC supports analog mouse controls and also uses the Wireless Classic Joystick controller for its dial stick.

If you have any questions about the Atari 50, write your question here so I can ask them on Saturday and Sunday.

Will Atari ST games arrive as DLC?

Eldin, Atari Vault lacked proper support for mouse/trackball/spinner at launch, which was pathetic, but after a couple painful updates, they fixed the issue and I can assure you that the trackball works. I used the trackball as a spinner for Tempest in Atari Vault for years before I made my arcade cabinet. Please see my guide in Atari Vault for instructions on how to set the mouse controls to the arcade correct sensitivity.

Wasabi Alt is there 4:3 / 3:4 aspect ratio for the arcade games? Is there a way to change the DIP switches? Will there be DLC in the future with more arcade games?

Digital Eclipse doesn't know much about the future of the Atari 50, only Atari could answer.

Full, wide, original, and option to play with the 3D bezel. They couldn't answer me if it would be possible to change the DIP switches. Only atari can answer us about the possibility of a future DLC.

Thanks. The bezels are nice to look at from an historical perspective but they shrink the screen and I'll just be hiding the bezels when I play. It sounds like you are confirming proper aspect ratio so I'm really excited about that.

DLC is not currently planned but honestly the success of the core release will determine whether DLC is something that can be pursued.

The bezels are as accurate to the coin-ops as we could make them, including instructions on-screen, but they can be turned off. The screen can be set to original, full, or wide, which is the only one that breaks the aspect ratio -- but you have to choose that.

It would be great if someone would please use the terms, "3:4" or "4:3" instead of, "original", to be specific, as there is also such a thing as, "pixel" aspect ratio, which is what Atari Vault uses. Pixel aspect ratio is what the ROM sees, not the monitor, and is not true to the arcade experience.

Unfortunately, it seems that the aspect ratio is off a tad. This is why Atari avoided specifically using the terms, "3:4" and "4:3" and instead used, "original" and "full".

The screen ratio in some Atari Vault games (mainly arcade) is different from the Atari 50, now I don't know what the right ratio is.

The aspect ratio for Atari Vault was even further off than what is in Atari 50. The planet in Atari Vault in Liberator looked like a sausage. Wasabi Alt please check out my other post that compares the emulated ROM version to the Atari 50 version.
