Flowers in the winter?!?

So... I got to the first day of winter and it's all nice and white but... how come the flowers just keep growing? I understand the ones in the greenhouse but the ones outside look kinda silly. Shouldn't they just... you know... die? :)

Yes, that sometimes seems a bit strange, but what do you want to do for 30 in-game days if there are no plants or growing outside?

How about an ability to build a snowman (which is in the game) and a big button saying "Skip winter" (which isn't)? :) I am no farmer but I'm pretty sure people living on real farms lay down in beds during winter and just sleep through them... or something like that.

The book says there are flowers that don't grow during the fall, but my tulips and lilies are still thriving. What even is the point of the book if it's going to be 'wrong'?

Agreed, the bugs were stupid too. Also... Having to water snow was super silly. I mean, they made the shader for the snow material go "slightly darker" in an area where the snow is "dry", so that you have to water it to make white and fluffy again.

My mind refuses to acknowledge this weirdness. All it makes me want to do is skip winter but I can't do that because all the flowers will die due to insects or something if I just get in the bus 30 times.

They need to sort these things out. And it takes almost 4 seasons to get the color needed for a quest. At least for me.
