Farming seed colors

So basically my whole garden is full of Hydragena plants bc I finally want to obtain the purple variant for the Greenhouse. I was lucky one time and then my game froze, now I play for like 15 ingame days with a full garden, I always take care of them fertilize them etc., they often dont even drop many seeds, if I get some they are the wrong color.

Another thing I cant really figure out, simply bc these Hydragenas have so many flowers, is it better to just leave them be or to cut them down regulary to get seeds? Do seeds only spawn on "fresh" flowers or on the old ones? Maybe that helps finally get the purple seed again (and save this time lol)

The Garden Shop has seed fertiliser, use that to increase the chances of getting more seeds and hence the purple one you want.

I can't say to if fresh flowers or old flowers will be better.

Oh wow, I totally missed that, for some reason thought thats the same fertilzer I can craft. Thank you thats very very helpful.
