Conrad - Vine stating for 2 hp on cast
Vine - max area, ignore it for...
Bone - max cooldown, range to lvl 5, damage when needed
Cleave - max cooldown, range to 5, damage as cooldown gets higher
FLEX - you are BUFF, show it off (just pick whatever you like for this slot)
Magus - Cleave starting for 2% heart drop on kill
Bone - Max everything alongside Cleave
FLEX - You are BUFF, ok that joke got old fast
FLEX HARDER - ... Free 2 slots
Tornado - Invest heavy early, focus on getting 6-8 tornadoes, up size 2-3 times to prevent enemies from slipping through cracks, pick up enough cool down to have 2 waves going at all time to allow for options on where to move.
Bone/Shuriken - Invest in both roughly equally, whatever options show up. Take cooldown whenever available. This is for heavy monster and boss shredding.
4th spell is a throw away, whatever I get stuck with, not going to invest in it.
Basically this. Vivian/Tornado start. Bone or Shuriken, thought Bone is most consistent. Vine for 3rd, investing only until 4 or 5 vines with enough AOE to have them all touch.
Vivian is S+++++ tier with tornado or arrow. Literally everyone else is F-----.
Maxine's starting CD doesn't matter after 5 levels of CD. She gets diminished returns compared to the other characters and everyone ends up at the same CD on Arrow/Bone/Spears. In addition, not being able to take a few hits makes her essentially worthless on Graveyard Hard mode.
Magnus is worthless, and the Tank dude is worthless. Magnus offers no gains, as you should never be getting hit that much and the Tank can't farm pets during a run.
Furthermore, Vivian is miles beyond others because of the scaling Soul Magnet on level up. She's so insanely broken. Every single Vivian run ends at level 90-100+. All others have a hard time even breaking level 60. I'll take two level 41 abilities with zero effort needed on my part any day.
My entire skill tree is focused around Vivian and how skills currently work. All Tornado nodes maxed out EXCEPT for knock-back, which essentially makes tornadoes worse with too much investment. Every Magnet primary node (20%). Every rune/blue soul node. Pet Cage speed, chest speed primaries, and Hero dmg/crit. Currently working towards capping bone nodes and the third vine node (haven't found it).
I keep trying other builds just to freshen up the runs but they all pale in comparison.
Final note on Pets. For very early first pets, always take Cici for 10% more xp. Otherwise take extended magnet range and at least one miner (the one that digs every 10s) for health regen. You don't need the one that only gives health, and getting extra runes/gems helps bolster future runs. Mining speed (for the gem rocks), movement speed, dmg mitigation, dmg, and currency boosters are all crap. Honorable mention is the +10% skill size Mole, decent, but because he's not worth investing pet levels in, he's not worth it. For additional pet levels, Magnet all the way.
If I find a node on the skill web that increases pet cage spawns then I'll reassess pets then. Haven't seen one yet, though.
Bone is more consistent with damage, unless you get that golem boss on Dark Forest and he decides to come at you from the side, in which case you are boned cause you can't hit him without getting danger close to the spear wall.
Normal all maps = Conrad + Tornados. You are save from almost everything and Tornados do the job.
On abuse Vivian and go with the stuff you get if you can't make enough money early on to get rid of all the garbage weapons there are.
