The character creation may not be a big deal for most people, but it was the big reason I fell in love with ChimeraLand. Other MMOs force me to play as a human I will never have any sort of attachment or appreciation for, especially not when it's a species I want to escape from for just a brief moment in my life. Even in games like Elder Scrolls where you CAN make a character that's not human, it's not really going to be MY character. Lizards and cats are cool and all, but my favorite animals are the Megafauna like rhinos and hippos. ChimeraLand is only one of two MMO games I know that lets me play as a Rhino, and it's THEE only MMO that lets me play as a hippo. Being able to craft a goofy, chonky hippo character and shape him to the way I want was why I fell in love with this game. Even with all of the games faults, this was MY character. This was the character I wanted to escape to, even for a brief moment in time.
And come the end of March, I will no longer have that character, and one of the few characters I could escape to will die with this game. And after this, I will not have much left. It's hard filling that void when there are so few amazing games out there with likeable, diverse characters I can escape to, as most of the ones I look forward to end up being crap, and the few that end up being good either have some other issue or get drowned out by a million Humans VS Everything and anti-nature stories. It's hard not to get upset over this.
The lack of any good info on how some of the game worked be it online or in game is mind boggling and dont even get me started on the grind needed to advance anything.
I will miss it dearly and as much as i want to play till the end i am not sure i can due to the
"whats the point?" factor.
Honestly,i could see this coming since in those 1000 hours playing in Eastmount area i ran into only a dozen or so other players...really??...yea.
Lastly,i never spent a nickel on this game so i am indeed part of the problem this game is going down and i am truly sorry to all that may have paid to enjoy this game.
RIP Chimeraland. I hope to see something like it again in the future, but I don't think we'll ever see something quite the same again.
