My opinion, health has too much of an impact on kicking out. I just had a match where my spirit was red but because my damage had fallen to 0%, I could not kick out.
This means that at some point in the match, even if you have a good back-and-forth, it's a race to be the first to pin because neither side can kick out at 0% health.
I won't pretend to know the best solution because I'm sure a different way will present other challenges. But after playing since release for several hours and matches (winning and losing to the cpu on elite), I think a pin should not be successful when momentum on both sides is great (though there should be some modifier/reward for attempting a pin otherwise no one will pin until spirit is at danger), and either health needs to be much higher (an option to change this for those that like the current set up) or we need better health regeneration.
For me, personally, as someone that enjoys playing against the CPU, what will keep me playing is a challenge that feels rewarding. I don't mind losing if I can have great matches that don't end just because one wrestler had the momentum for a minute into the match.
Indeed, the giant momentum shifts though incentivize ending the matches as soon as possible, especially since players online are really really good sometimes.
If we are beating the CPU in under 4 minutes on Elite, I'd argue the game has already been mastered.
You can say there are things we still need to learn but what good are those things if they don't need to be utilized. An easy game should always mean easy to understand the controls. Hard to master should require that on the highest difficulty, if you are not fully utilizing all that the game has to offer, you will not be successful.
