Game not showing save files

I'm having trouble with the game save files not showing up, I was in the middle of the introduction then my computer completely turned off. now every time I open the game it wont let me pick the save file. it would let me see the settings and the credits, but not the "new save" or "load save". Anyone know what is wrong?
