Currently there are 5 biomes and 12 main weapons to get, along with passives. The last couple biomes have some bruiser type regular enemies and are more challenging, though the first boss can still push some people to try, and has an interesting mechanic that is a DPS check after you beat him that determines whether or not you're going to get an annoying miniboss later.
Some of the builds revealed themselves later when I received new weapons or passives that I haven't gotten to try yet.
Also woah I had no idea that letting the head go was the difference between pirate or the other one. That pirate is WAY harder so I guess it's better not to kill the head.
Might not be worth it yet if you're a god among men and only want to reach the end of it, definitely worth it if you enjoy doing runs on repeat IMO. I'd suggest trying it out and seeing if the combat clicks with you, because that's basically what the game revolves around.
Now all that's left is an incremental difficulty increase and some unlockables.
With this being from the Dead cells team which has done a massive amount of updates on that game. I would say we have a good or long way to go.
Gameplay feels complete (probably missing weapons). Idk about content amount.
The stages are linear. Non-linear stages added an element of exploration to dead cells and what immediatelly set it apart from all the others.
