Pangolin also looks quite impressive, same goes for Guinea Pig, which having a cool pirate-like appearance.
Axolotl is arguably worst just because it looks much more charismatic in trailer yet in game it looks...kinda worse? Dont know why, but maybe because its face looks kinda different than in trailer or just because it lacks extra details that Basilisk and Bat have. Maybe i just simply dont like it, who knows.
Among those who appears as Spirits:
Imo Hare/Rabbit is coolest looking one, Tiger also having cool design with lot of personality., but bird looks kinda too wierd as for my taste, so id put it a bit above Axolotl. Same thing, wierd appearance + not a lot of extra details to make it unique. A hat, scarf(with physics like in Dead Cells wold look awesome on that bird) or trinkets, would make it much cooler ninja-like appearance.
So from best to worst overall id say Basilisk, Bat, Guinea Pig, Pangolin, Hare, Tiger, Bird and Axolotl.
Among characters id like to see, is fox character, maybe short fennec with very big ears and tail just for the vibe, some cool warrior outfit and maybe some cool hat cause there is no characters with hats in game yet.
Edit:
literally was about to suggest something similar. Hats/scarfs and some trinkets definitely would be easy to implement.

I'm only saying different cosmetic parts cause i think in dead cells there's a door with swords on it that allowed individualistic cosmetics, and there's like a floating boat in the demo with also another pair of swords, so im hoping
Only that will add up a ton of variety + i think its pretty easy to implement just because its already existing in game.
Damn, thats extremely good idea, i really wish that it will be implemented just for sake of something like pink Guinea Pig. This will look hilarious, plus will add up a ton of variety without much issue, just because i can see distinctive parts on every character model that can be fitted into this colout scheme pretty easily.
It’s pretty noticeable when you’re in the hot spring area after the first biome.
