Is there a way to turn off upgrades/weapons from spawning?
There's quite a few upgrades and weapons that I really don't like and I very much regret unlocking them. Is there a way to turn off certain unlockables? I feel like resetting all my progress and only unlocking the stuff that I like.

I concur. that this is needed (don't see such an option sadly) I find myself purposely avoiding unlocks because I don't want to dilute my pool with options I'm pretty sure I won't like.

Maybe a system similar to The Last Spell where you can choose to have a minimum number of weapons / skills etc in a run that you can customise. Or as many as you want.

what I've done is make a new file (file #2) and then bought EVERYTHING on file one so it feels complete

Yeah that's exactly what I am doing now. Using the first file to test things and keeping the 2nd file clean so I can just use what I like

Came to the discussions to write a complaint about this, but I see you've beat me to it. I'm also one of those people who started a new game just to have a clean pool of items I *mostly* would enjoy to be in the pool.

This has been an issue present from the Dead Cells times, where you had to similarly have two saves. Hopefully this is subject to change here as it just doesn't feel natural to have a save with everything unlocked and another one to maximise the chances of actually succeeding a run.

Thanks for the thread, I do hope any dev will comment if this is indeed planned or is not going to be done.
... do you guys realize that random equipment is a staple of roguelikes?

Yes but many if not most of the 'upgrades' are absolute trash so you feel like being punished for unlocking them. Why dilute the pool with bad upgrades/weapons when you can choose not to?

How many of those "bad items" have you given a honest try? Seriously?

Meaning, actually learned how to use them?

If I would give advice to someone starting a new game, it would be NOT to unlock everything. There are so many bad passives and trinkets. Hopefully they will balance them out so its all worth it, To name a few:
1) hide in the bush (while funny, and u can hide and wait for cooldowns, kind of ruins the flow of the game)
2) most of mark ones
3) dash ones are pretty bad as well...
I could be very wrong and there could be a very broken build with some of these, but I found them quite bad.

This is early access, they need people getting items they don't necessarily like so they can balance and bug-test all of them... That's sorta what you buy into with early access. They're supposed to be adding the option to turn them on and off once the first non-early-access is released from what I've read.

if one wants to cheat, they can make a new save and just unlock what they want, lessening the pool. Hopefully, devs will get rid of this at higher difficulties.
