Lost Grappling Hook

First gal, I beat the underworld boss and got the teleportation drone. Now I have that mobility device whenever I main as her. Second gal, I beat the overworld boss and got the grappling hook.

Then I died, it's gone, and even beating the boss will not give me another grappling hook.

I THINK it's a bug, unless I've misunderstood a mechanical structure- it doesn't seem to stop me from doing anything, since there are work-arounds for most of the hookshot 'spots' I've found.

I don't know if this is an 'every time' bug, or if I got unlucky, but just an FYI for the developers. Let me know if I'm just being a dunce.

Anyway, other than that, game seems to have a lot of potential! I would love a parry mechanic, and/or other defensive options beyond a simple dodge, although the dodge does work well.

This is a bug. We've fixed this in next week's update.

So the new update is out, I beat the robo boss again, and I did not get a grappling hook.

Now, my main was the gun girl, so maybe that's the issue- I'll try again next run with Kera.

so does this address the same effect for invisibility? Just the same thing happens.

No. Invisibility is not a permanent upgrade.

Yes. Traversal abilities that are required for progression are permanent, everything else is lost at the end of a run.

The grappling hook is not required to traverse that area. You're fused with Naira, and have access to the wall jump. You can use that to traverse the level.

You're actually not using a character that has access to the grapple arm in this screenshot.

Oh, I just figured that out myself. I was wondering what the difference between characters was...

Is Naira's wall jump available from the start? Never knew that was a thing.

So how is the Grappling Hook unlock supposed to work? I completed a run where I collected it after beating the last boss, but I'm not starting new runs with it. I've tried all 3 characters. Is there something else I need to do? The game does not explain this at all.

I just came here for a answer to this too, I know I had the arm unlocked because one hour ago I played as her. Now choosing her the grapple arm is not there on her. Restarting game didn't do anything.

I started a new 1.0 game, and at some point briefly saw I had a grappling hook but then haven't seen it after that run with it but I've had a few levels where my ONLY options appear to be grappling places on both the left and right (immediately at the opening) and had to jump in lava to die to reset. Sucks to be soft locked in a run. This seems to only happen to me with the grappling hook character
