To put everything in perspective though. My first playthrough of cruelty squad was 4 hours long. So I'm gonna end up spending way more time in this game in its current state.
Be warned the game both doesnt hold your hand and is also really really obtuse but once you get it it's so satisfying to play. It's not cruelty squad 2 though so be prepared for that. It's got the reload from cruelty squad and some other things that are Villes style but everything else couldn't be more different. Game is Armored Core 1-3 + Swat/rainbowsix = Deus Ex. Good ♥♥♥♥.
you have multiple ways to complete an objective but the game is slower and more punishing so running around massacring everything in your way is less viable (at least until you upgrade stuff enough).
in terms of mechanics game feels rather different from cruelty squad, more like deus ex since you have rpg stats. you have to figure out stuff (and die a lot) before you really start progressing.
I played on steam deck and performance was fine with 0 crashes and minimal bugs but I saw some people complaining about frequent crashes
Yeah I've never watched (well FINISHED) a video on CS. It's people trying to be funnier than the game or else bastardizing the messages of it with shallow parody. I've heard theres an interview with the dev I'm interested in, but I even worry that will be a "don't meet your heroes" moment for me. Well maybe not considering just how much I love Cruelty Squad.
