How is the game at EA launch?
Steam reviews as of now aren't too helpful. Negative reviews are sometimes detailed but that's only telling me potential downsides and I try to get a general overview before buying a game for both negative and positive.

Unfortunently, most of the current positive reviews I'm seeing are short non reviews or memes, and I couldn't care less about the memes. Loved Cruelty Squad but didn't care about the memes with that game either.

How much content is in the current EA of the game? Are bugs a big issue? How's it compare to Cruelty Squad?

Is it just as varied with playstyles? Cruelty Squad had open maps with several ways to approach objectives, and lots of varied weapons and tools. How's this game hold up to that?

I'm only 3 hours in and feels like I've barely scratched the surface on what content is in the game and that's not counting the amount of replay-ability on show in different approaches I can take to different situations. The game is really hard and has a lot more systems, makes cruelty squad seem simple in comparison. I haven't encountered any major bugs (I had a resolution scaling issue when booting the game initially while having a second monitor active. Fixed it by turning the second monitor off and then setting the game to full screen. After I did the fix I can now open the game with my second monitor turned on.)

To put everything in perspective though. My first playthrough of cruelty squad was 4 hours long. So I'm gonna end up spending way more time in this game in its current state.

Be warned the game both doesnt hold your hand and is also really really obtuse but once you get it it's so satisfying to play. It's not cruelty squad 2 though so be prepared for that. It's got the reload from cruelty squad and some other things that are Villes style but everything else couldn't be more different. Game is Armored Core 1-3 + Swat/rainbowsix = Deus Ex. Good ♥♥♥♥.
I'd say worth the money but you have to be pretty dedicated. It's a lot less straightforward than CS. So unless you absolutely adored the game I don't think you'll have a good time with this one.

Dude, that's why even the Dev doesn't like the Cruelty Squad community, everyone is trying to be "Haha Funny guy"

9 hours in and still haven’t really progressed the main quest getting sidetracked by a bunch of side quests.

you have multiple ways to complete an objective but the game is slower and more punishing so running around massacring everything in your way is less viable (at least until you upgrade stuff enough).

in terms of mechanics game feels rather different from cruelty squad, more like deus ex since you have rpg stats. you have to figure out stuff (and die a lot) before you really start progressing.

I played on steam deck and performance was fine with 0 crashes and minimal bugs but I saw some people complaining about frequent crashes

Yeah I've never watched (well FINISHED) a video on CS. It's people trying to be funnier than the game or else bastardizing the messages of it with shallow parody. I've heard theres an interview with the dev I'm interested in, but I even worry that will be a "don't meet your heroes" moment for me. Well maybe not considering just how much I love Cruelty Squad.
unplayable. Default resolution renders most of the window offscreen, preventing you from accessing the settings menu. I loved cruelty squad but I'm about to refund and wait a bit

check your display resolution scaling on your actual computer. If it's anything other than 100% it'll mess it up
