Hacking minigame

You just have to get the hex code that is mostly green by pressing + or - on the hacking screen, once you do that go to the char menu and press + or - until you get something that resembles a word. For example: camera password in the etf office for me was ARCHEAN and the hex was: 41 52 43 48 45 41 4e **, where ** stands for a random two symbol combination.

Cheers mate, do you have to just spam press + and - or is there a faster way? I'm assuming there's items and can spec into it to make it easier.

Can you elaborate? There are always several different hex codes settings that are mostly green and none of the char menus I scroll through have anything resembling words on any of the things I've tried to hack

What about keypad in evidence room? There are 7 rows and I can't understand what do I need to do with such table

I have no idea as of yet, if there is a Hackman 2 it's worth trying it out using that, other than that no clue...

As a rule of thumb: all of the two digit combinations of the code must be green, except for the last one. Once they are green switch to the char menu, and press either + or - or nothing at all, remember to check the hex code while doing that, all the digits must remain green

Any insight on keypads? I'm guessing each row in the hacking display corresponds to one digit in the passcode but I'm out of ideas how to interpret them beyond that.

EDIT: I actually don't think this is true any more. I think that it's just that the password is one continuous string that might go off the end of one row and onto the next. I saw this happen with the voyeur guy's computer at Gaia, so the keypads probably work the same.
