infinite Iron - bug?

If you manufacture a set of iron strip, it will use a single iron ingot but if you melt them you'll get an ingot for each.
Not sure if this is intended but it saved my life when by mistake I ended up without pickaxe and iron ore.
Great game and good mechanics, keep it up!

You can duplicate iron with any basic material if you are willing to click minigame while smelting.

I know this is a bit old of a post but I have found a similar bug. If you have 2 Iron plates you are using 8 iron. If you smelt that down you are meant to receive 8 iron. If you can hit the furnace at the right times you can effectively double your resources. I have made 1 glass canister and used this to endlessly make more

in another post last month they also said they will be leaving these kinda bugs in the game and leave it up to the player if they wish to use them as its a single player game, they mentioned it would be good speedruns or if you just want to finish the game faster.
