Stuck at the first bridge

I've played games for decades, dolved countless puzzles so why am I stuck here?! The guard won't allow me to approach the 1st bridge and after being told to get the cash the rat asked me to make knitting needles.

Now I could just pull up a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ walkthrough and every blueprint but then why even play the game, I might as well watch it being played on YouTube.

How am I supposed to know how to make knitting needles if they refuse to provide a blueprint. Is the game Early Access? Cuz it didn't say it was. I cut down and mined every tree and rock on the 1st island. No blueprint anywhere.

I'm sorry about the frustration, the devs are working to fix all the bugs that we can find.
The rat should give you the blueprint together with the request. Maybe something happened during the transation... Were your inventory full? (sometimes when your inventory is full, items get sent to your village (to your mail (in front of your blacksmith building)). If not that, are you playing on gamepass? (There is a common bug thats happening on gamepass that the devs fixed, but are waiting for it to be greenlight to push the new patch with the fixes)
