In a Ruined Tower (Swamp), the Red Table Cloth Disapeared, Cant Leave?

I was swapping the table cloth and it went rather quickly, all of a sudden it was stuck on the Green Table cloth and the red one was missing from my inventory. Now I'm unable to leave, and it's nowhere to be found?

Edit:

I quit to the main menu, and now I'm unable to collect the compass blueprint from the chicken on the map, and the chest on the map is still looted. So.. it did not rollback to my prior save point as stated? This.. is rough.

I just ran into the same problem. Can't get passed this puzzle because the red/brown table cloth disappeared. Restarting the game I had to redo the day, but the puzzle progress was saved. Playing on GamePass.

you can "go around" that building if its really bugged, you can patch the swamp holes ... i just dont remember how, but the guy on the left of the swamp teachs you how if you complete his quest

Hammer, three nails, and some wood will make a bridge over swamp spots that are visible. If you're on kb&m, just click the spot you want to make the bridge if you can't turn to face it.

I don't know if you can craft the compass without the recipe but just in case :
You need
4 Iron curved plate (1x1)
1 steel sharpened strip
The position will be this :
