Cannot find the eternal flame

I deleted all the notes, including the one found at the old forge, from my inventory to make space, which turns out to have been a mistake. Any suggestions?

Not sure which part you're on, or if the steps have to be done in a certain order, here's the basic gist:
Go to the old forge. Pick up a sword and put it in the left pillar. Pick up a spear and put it in the right pillar. It opens the forge which gives you one flame. Use it to upgrade your forge. To make more, put the swamp wood you get from the woodcutter village missions/store in the smelter. To light the candle, put it in the smelter.

I did all that, never got the flame, and then the sword and spear disappeared... time to start all over again I guess...

Maybe check the forge again, you may have just never picked it up. Also check if the pillars are still interactable. If they are, it means you didn't complete it.

after you deposit the sword and spear... the furnace in the middle opens and you grab it there

Two spears are in the building to the right of the old forge. A sword is in the building to the left of the old forge.

nvm randomly found it. But I wish for some of the progression you are given the recipes you need.

Think you actually have to put the sword on the right and the spear on the left

ah I found the sword, but never found the spears.

The spears are in the building on the right of where you found the sword, i think there are 3 spears on the wall

In addition, the left side is the spear, and the right side is the sword.

Is this quest bugged? The sword and spears disappeared from my inventory and now don’t spawn in the forge anymore

If you lost the items after collecting them, just forge new ones and use those instead.

the person that replied had them backwards, the sword goes on the right and the spear the left. that worked for me and i go the flame
