Xbox Version: Cryptex Bug?

So, I came to the Ruined Tower and may or may not have accidentally submitted my (Deactivated) Metal Bird into the altar, thinking that's how you'd activate it to give to the bird village chief.

I now know you have to submit the crafted (locked) cryptex into it, but it won't open or let me remove the (Deactivated) Metal Bird, which sucks because you get the mechanical heart for free (I ended up having to buy one from a merchant in the mining town).

I've gone to the tower both day and night, and it will not open the altar. Is this bugged?

Yeah, its a common bug, its already fixed on the steam version, but the patch isnt up yet for gamepass/consoles

Hey! The patch was deployed and you should be able to grab your bird back from the altar when you return to it at night!

The cryptex and 3 of the rings disappeared from my inventory when I quit and loaded up my save. I thought one of the rings disappeared but I had left it in the alter, so now I just have one ring and can't complete the quest.
