How to open Gold Box Companion?

I've been trying to figure out how to actually open the Gold Box Companion-thingy, I've done it once on accident but can't seem to be able to do it again. .-.
Am I being blind/dumb? >_< Can someone explain it to me?

If you go to the game installation folder, there'll be subfolders for the 3 games. Go to the folder of the game you want to play, there you'll find another subfolder named "GBC". Go in there, run gbc.exe.

Save a copy on your task bar, or if you’re an old game addict like me, pin it to your task bar.! There are times you will need to restart it. Like, if it doesn’t recognize the adding or dropping of NPC characters on your roster, save the game and restart GBC. (Although, I think newer versions automatically closes the UI when this happens, you just need to save the game and reload that save in GBC.)

I have the GBC in the game folders, specifically atm Champions of Krynn as that's what I want to play.

I can click GBC.exe all day and it does nothing. I can click GBC original.exe, It also does nothing.

I'm clearly misreading the tutorial on how to install and use this program,...
Oh right. There isn't one. Not even vague documentation on how to install and use this. Just a few random screenshots.

GBC is included with the Steam release of the Gold Box games and should start automatically. You don't have to install anything. The game needs to be windowed.

For troubleshooting, go to the GBC-folder (located under each game's folder), and open Log.txt.

For example, a typical install path for Champions of Krynn is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dungeons & Dragons Krynn Series\games\Champions of Krynn\GBC

If you need character editing, you need to download an editor version from here:

Do NOT use the normal GBC version with Steam. Only download the normal package if you need the other utils like the Save Game Editor. There's a tutorial included in the package (in the Tutorial-folder, click index.html) or online here[gbc.zorbus.net], and instructions in the file GBC.txt. But like I said, only use it for the Save Game Editor or other tools, for normal gameplay use the Steam version.
