Dare I say...currently too easy?
Preface this by saying I've only played one club in the beta so far, but the results I am getting are mental and I dont think im doing anything special.

Im lowly Sutton United in English Division 2, expected finish 16th....im currently 1st, I managed to get two free transfers before the season started which were on par depth players (Sutton cant attract anyone much better than what you start with at game start as low wage cap per player) 11 points clear after 19 games. Not lost one game except a cup game to Portsmouth. Ive just dumped Bristol Rovers of the division above out of the FA cup 6-2 and I beat Oxford Unuited of the same division in the Papa Johns 3-0!

Playing a 4-2-4, IW on the left, normal winger on right, AF and TF up front with BPDs and WBs at back and BWM and B2B in midfield. Positive, short passing, high tempo, high press (press a lot). A Boring standard tactic as vanilla as you like.

Im simply smashing everything in my way, and whilst its quite fun....something is clearly broken LOL

On the other hand Im having a terrible time as usual. Im not even using a custom tactic which could go wrong - Im playing one of the 3 recommended tactics for the team I picked, and fielding the best players, etc.

Impossible matches. All those draws, a lot of last minute equalisers by the other teams, or blunders by my players when Im winning just to make it a draw - for example conceding the most moronic penalties in the edge of the area for no reason at all. The last two goals in the last two matches before I got fired were own goals too. You could go 2 seasons without having an own goal benefit you, but I had two in a row against me.

The game keeps telling me "manager is unwilling to experiment new tactics". Wtf. Tactics are fine, maybe they should focus on the players not blundering goals, or missing one-on-ones, or conceding last minute penalties to force a draw when I should have won the game. Or players conceding own goals for no reason at all. That's not "tactics".

Just completed my first full season of beta as Norwich City and had an Invincible Season, finishing with 120+ points - on my daughters' lives I did not save-scum or cheat in any way - unlocked 35 of the 100 Steam Achievements in the process. I used an off-the-shelf tactic recommended by my Assistant Manager with a couple of tweaks. I would say, on this limited game play, that things are too easy.

Football manager have always been easy, atleast if you know what tactics perform the best and understands how to sign proper players, mainly because you can sign players, that in real life would never come to the clubs (in most cases, unless we talk about the big clubs)

I always use 3 tactics (all customs ofc) two are similar, but have different takes on how much to press, the last one is a "underdog" tactics, for when I am a big underdog on aways..

Basically you can just make two tactics to swap between and change one slider on the secound one and you wont have any issues.

I've only played since FM2021, but at least since then the series has always been pretty damn easy. I'm not a fan of the sport and came into this as a fan of strategy / squad based games (hell, I still can't explain the offside rule properly) but managed to get Chorley into the Sky Bet Champs within 6 years on my first playthrough.

I will take that challange.
It can´t be too hard, it is Sunderland after all.

I’ve been playing as Dulwich Hamlet, promotion from VanSouth yr1 and FA atrophy victory, lost 6 games all season, season 2 top of VanNational by 7 points in March, 2 losses. Playing a 4-3-3 DM and have made some decent free agent signings but it’s like god mode.

Fine for the BETA but hopefully they tighten things up come full release.

I will secure promotion, I need a new Beta test team, so that will be Sunderland now.
Once I have some matches, I will give some screens and progression here

Might come down to whether you're playing a counter style with quick tempo and direct passing. The game favours this and where I always play Spurs, I always like to implement a controlled attacking play, but the only way to get high % possession is the game is constant passes across the back instead of a high pressured play like City where you're camped outside the opposition box. The game calculates attacks really quickly and the goalkeeping and defending is really sh*t at the moment. If you counter quickly you're exposing the crap defending and generating lots of attempts at goal with how quickly the game calculates attacks and direct passing...might be a reason?
