HOW DO YOU PLAY THIS GAME!!??
My biggest pet peeve when it comes to game tutorials is when they tell you how mechanics work, but not how to apply them in real time. Steel Assault also did this, and it was annoying.

Like, how can I get out of grabs? Or, how does the ranking system work? Or, how come when I get full yellow meter and press the correct button, it doesn’t install fatal sync and just makes me burst, making me lose meter so I can’t fatal sync? Or how do I get out of being stunlocked? Or how come breaking the orb doesn’t give me full meter sometimes?

Fatal sync has to be done neutral, so you can't be pressing a direction. You have to hit an enemy when you burst to get meter back. This is a game where you kinda have to feel a lot of the mechanics out, but once everything clicks it's a lot of fun.

Thank you

To give some more detail.

To get full meter you have to hit an enemy with a neutral burst. If you're being hit and you burst then you don't get any meter from it.
An easy way to make sure that you get full meter is to burst as you combo enemies (and then you can just mash Fatal Sync without a direction to go straight into Fatal Sync, it even make you invincible briefly).

Getting out of being stunlocked is probably the most difficult part of the game and is extremely situational but the default go-to option I recommend is to just wait until your characters lands on the ground, then wake up with Down + Jump (you can wake up into any direction but using Down makes you hit the ground faster), and then dodge right after.

Ranking system seems to prioritize not getting hit the most. Every time I beat a level without being hit I got an automatic S.

Another useful tip I can give you is to use the KKZ.
It's a super move that uses your whole meter, but if you're in Fatal Sync (and you should always be in Fatal Sync) you can use it even if you have a sliver of meter left.
The input is Down, Down, Down, Light Attack, Heavy Attack.

Thanks! I’ll try and apply this next time.

Thanks, brother. I had a post written out on my phone with a few tips, but the steam app likes to take me to the qr code screen and i didn't want to retype everything. I will add that up ex up gives some i frames and is good for clashing since it hits so many times. Neutral ex (the punch) gives some super armor that can be useful.
