Can we Play as Male character ?

yep, female characters are great as long as they're hot. maelle is really hot so i'll be happy if she's the MC, but i'm pretty sure the dude is the MC

Both are MCs. You control the group.
Gustavo is basically the leader while Maelle is "the special mysterious girl". Im not sure how big role Luna has as the third MC in the group.

This is my main concern. If the main protagonist is female, I don't even consider buying a game, as it is the critical immersion breaking point.

I will never understand this issue in media today. Let's go back in time a bit in time where there was no TV, radio, or video games. A time where people read these ancient media called books. Was there a riot every time a new novel got published because of the main character's gender? No. People didn't demand authors to change/rewrite their works due to their sexual identity or preference either. Go home, grow up and learn that world doesn't revolve around you.
