I mean, why not just say all gamers have always been men. What does the missing 0.1 percent add to this? Surely not accuracy.
What matter is how the character will be written and how much there will be politic/personal philosophy included in the narrative itself (which is a problem lately).
But a female as a main charater? That not new and there as been excellent games with them.
