I tried this, but how do you turn off screenshake once this happens?

Also have a terrible case of motion blur...

You have to disable Screenshake in game settings, and in yourself in your eye settings.

Motion Blur means you are tired, time to sleep.

Unreal Engine, runs like a wet poop charm!

Why would you make your own engine if a popular, stable, off-the-shelf one with available documentation and support is right there? That'd be foolish.

This ain't the wild west of game development anymore where everyone makes proprietary engines, and unless your name is id Software and you're really, REALLY good at making incredible game engines that somehow require like half of the system reqs as your competitors, making your own engine seems silly.

(Tangent, but no really how come every DOOM game looks incredible and runs smoothly at high settings on toasters?)

''stable'' lmao, it's one of the worst engines in terms of stability

or at least the devs that use it make sure to make it seem like that because almost every new unreal 5 game has big issues

it's the reality of the situation. You are free to deny reality all you want though.
It's not denial, UE5 is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and more studios need to go back to proprietary engines.

IDtech is far superior to UE5, it looks stunning and actual runs without UE jank.

I agree that IDTech is WAY better but its not open to use. Unfortunately UE5 does not really have good competition and it takes an insane amount of resources to build a game engine, let alone train people on it. For a new studio with little resources, this is 100% out of the question. So UE5 becomes the defacto choice. This engine LOOKS really good, it just runs like garbage unfortunately.

Engines are not simple to create nor troubleshoot, this's why companies that don't have the resources to do so licence their engine, it would take multiple years to setup an engine before you could even make a game. Say what you will about UE5, because I also agree that it's a buggy unoptimized POS engine, but Epic has always had really good support.

Just look at what happened with Dice when EA was mandating the Frostbite engine, they spent so much time helping other studios get the engine working right that they couldn't focus on their own projects.

And companies with proprietary engines get ♥♥♥♥ on for "being bad engines" like Bethesda, despite having one of the best proprietary engines in the industry.

You seem frustrated with the ton of games released on UE5 and which seem to copy each other
TRUE - tired from every second low quality garbage that looks, feels and plays exactly the same
Opprinnelig skrevet av MetallicaR8:

This is not the fault of UE5 directly, but of those who use it.
FALSE - if there was not this "free for all engines" every second idiot would not think he is a developer  and if epic made everyone pay more to use it, developers would think twice if it worth and maybe put more effort in their work, studios would not create new game every week, players would save more money, as would not feel the need to "support" every untalented student who created something in his free time on weekend and think he will sell it for 20$ now like if it had 1/3 of RDR2 (if that 60$ game with 200m) budget.

Why is it the developers fault that your PC contains outdated 2013 hardware that nets you 33 FPS on 1080p medium LOL? This is a "YOU" problem and not Unreal Engine 5
DeLastOne 21. feb. kl. 10.19
"make me an engine" ... yea sure. So easy, right ? How will that service the game anyway? What is to you , really ?

Not every studio has the budget for it.

Not every studio has the budget or the time to make their own engine. Deny reality all you want but it doesn't change anything.
