Gameplay is Not Fun
I like everything about it EXCEPT the parrying. if it makes the game tedious on even the supposed easiest of enemies, it's not fun to play. i think the bullet time needs to be removed or changed to an ability that your chars use that take up mp. the enemy moves that slowly crawl out is what the problem is. The model style is an aquired taste but overall I want to love the game considering the story. But the parrying is equivalent to FF7r minigames. It makes you not want to play but just watch.

If not any of these suggestions, at least display parry prompts like the super mario rpg remake that are actually on time with the attacks.

Install a mod for easy parries, then? What's stopping you? It's a single player game. There are plenty out there and it's very easy to use them.

Then it's a good thing someone has apparently done everything without parries.

git gud. the active combat mechanics are precisely why this is the only rpg to not put me to sleep in 2 decades.
i disagree

Parrying actually lets you kill everything faster, unlike in Like A Dragon where the only thing parry does is mitigate damage. In this game you'll actually do more damage from parries alone.

The parrying did get really obnoxious at Stone Wave Cliffs to the point that I just skipped most of the battles there. I don't understand how you're supposed to get through it without the Breaking Rules and Sealed Fate shield breakers. I
disagree with making it play more like Mario Rpg. Switch just went ahead and made a baby game, even easier than it originally was on the SNES.

You prob just need to build your characters differently. With the male character, I always build them into a high vitality, high agility tank then equip them with high agility & defense pictos. The male character has so much recovery & self sustain that they can just tank through everything without dodging or parrying. I also remade Lune as part of the back up team so I increase nothing but her agility, vitality & defense and then give her pictos that give her extra ap.
I only care about parrying with Maele & Sciel since they're both constantly attacking & setting up moves.

Meh i just refunded in the hopes they will eventually patch something in for people that don't enjoy QTE's and parry timings in their turn based games. Boating season about to begin so in no rush:P

If it's not fun, then it just means this game is not for you. Just move on.

Don't force your preferences on the developers.
Sure, just spend 10 times as long grinding up levels
Also this makes your comment look ridiculous:

dont like parrying? dont parry. Build properly. Most of the damage should not be from parrying. Set up buffs, charges, stains, foretells... set up debuffs like mark, defenseless, burn... You never land any counters? you dont need to. You can melt foes anyway. That stuff hits harder than parrying.

You dont need to spend hours grinding levels, No.. Exploration, get enough picto and set up 60% + crit rate builds. Find upgrade matz and level weapons. Play w marking or have a burn team.

you literally returned it for no reason then.. you can turn off qte's on offense in the options. you can also beat the game on story mode without ever having to touch dodge or parry. theres a guy who did it already.

yeah I don't see why make a turn based game where strategy doesn't matter and you can just ignore all the damage. just make a hack and slash lol.

You just need to make sure your Pictos and Luminos are giving you a ton of AP. Then simply shoot the shields off before doing a multi-hit attack to finish off the shields. I've seen a LOT of people with stacked AP forget that they can just shoot and remove the shield while still being able to do a pretty big attack.
