Either work fine, no issue. The devs recommend using a controller.

Tried with mouse and KB and works quite nicely, but I much prefer the controller. It just feels much more natural with the way the inputs are placed as opposed to the keyboard.
Personal preference, though, if you don't like controller, it's not required to use one at all.
