Some questions about the plot (full game spoilers)
There are some plot elements, mostly from early in the game, that I'm not sure ever got resolved.

1. Gustave's arm
Does the game ever explain exactly how he lost his arm?

2. Gustave's heart
In the beach scene and the one following, Gustave seems to experience heart palpitations or some other problem with his heart. As far as I can tell, this never comes up again. Is this ever elaborated on?

3. Sciel and Esquie
In his introduction scene, Esquie clearly recognises Sciel and even knows that she's a bad swimmer. At first, I thought this was meant to imply that Esquie rescued her from the Beach, but they linger just long enough on this point and never actually confirm it that it comes off as extremely weird to me.

4. The flower and the Goblu
At the end of the Flying Waters area, you find a field of flowers, with a flower in the middle that looks identical to the one Gustave gifted Sophie. Gustave picks it, prompting the Goblu to jump in and attack.
After the fight, the characters point out that it only attacked because Gustave picked the flower, and that it feels familiar somehow.
I took this at not-so-subtle foreshadowing for a twist where the Nevrons are "repainted" victims of the Gommage. That obviously didn't happen, so what was the point of this whole thing, then? Why did Maelle find THIS particular Nevron familiar?

1. Nope
2. Nope, but he was on 1HP and suffering from shock so that's probably why.
3. This is actually fully explained in ACT III during camp interactions with Sciel. Esquie recognized her because he was the one who saved her years ago when she tried to drown herself after losing her husband.
4. Maelle found it familiar because Clea has paintings and sculptures of all the Nevrons throughout the real Manor, therefore she was remembering her actual life.

1. No
2. Stress, anxiety. fear. Just a way of depicting him being overwhelmed by those things.
3. This is resolved in act 3, if you raise the relationship with her. When her husband died, she tried to commit suicide by swimming into the ocean not knowing she was pregnant. Esquie saves her then, but she does not remember, she woke up in a hospital
4. Honestly, I don't think it was clearly addressed. Maele likely found the nevron familiar because they are created by her sister, but from what I understood, not all of them are directly created by her. It's not like she stays or pops back in now and then to create new ones, and plenty have been defeated. This one might be an original Clea creation
